Long Term Success

Charlotte Rescue Mission's completion rate is about twice the national average, but how about post-completion? How long do our clients stay sober?

We are developing new methods to test that and have recently added a staff member to track and develop our relationships with those who have completed the program over an extended period.

Sometimes, it's hard to keep in touch with clients who have completed the program. Perhaps they've put this phase of their life behind them and moved on to the life they never thought they could have. But fairly regularly, we'll be contacted by a former client out of the blue who thanks us and our supporters for what was done for him or her.

I just spoke with a former client who I remember well. His work ethic and attitude were top notch while he was at the mission - and it rubbed off on others. Now, he is back with his family and gainfully employed with 10 months of sobriety and counting. He also told me that a good friend of his who completed the program around the same time had been re-united with his wife!

He said he thanks God every day for what Charlotte Rescue Mission has done for him.
